Evening News Ratings: Week of Nov. 2

By Chris Ariens

All three evening newscasts saw week-to-week total viewer growth, as typically happens when the clocks fall back and it gets darker earlier.

But compared the same week last year all three are down in the ad-friendly A25-54 demo. CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley was down the most down -10 percent. World News Tonight with David Muir was down -8 percent, and NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt was down -3 percent. The same week last year saw heavy coverage of the midterm elections.

Other highlights from the week: Nightly News and World News Tonight had their most-watched weeks in 8 months, since the week of March 2. And the Evening News was up the most year-over-year, adding 322,000 viewers (+4 percent) vs. the same week last year.
