It was an unusual week for the evening newscasts, with the Memorial Day holiday and a pair of major sporting events meaning that the ratings were based on limited data. As usual :”NBC Nightly News” placed first, though that was based only on numbers from Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with a Stanley Cup playoff game on Wednesday.
“ABC World News” placed second, but was based only on Wednesday and Friday, due to the holiday and a pair of NBA playoff games.
“CBS Evening News” placed third, and was based on numbers from Tuesday-Friday.
