Evening News Ratings: Week of March 12

By Chris Ariens

ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir won the week, in both total viewers and the ad-friendly A25-54 demo. It’s the second week in a row the ABC broadcast has seen an across-the-board win. The Muir broadcast also saw the most year-over-year audience growth of all three evening newscasts.

Compared to the same week last year, WNT was up +5 percent in viewers and down -1 percent in the demo; NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt was down in both measurements: down -6 in viewers and down -9 percent in the demo. CBS Evening News with Jeff Glor down -2 percent in viewers and down -5 percent in the demo.

Due to the NCAA Tournament, CBS Evening News was retitled on Thursday and Friday. Those days are excluded from their average.
