All three evening newscasts saw big decreases in average viewership last week compared to the week prior. “NBC Nightly News” retained the top spot, but was down 1.01 million Total Viewers. “ABC World News” was down 740,000, and “CBS Evening News” was down 910,000.
The averages for all three newscasts were also down, though less-so, year-to-year. The first week of Daylight Saving Time is traditionally a lower rated week.
Note: The “CBS Evening News” average includes only Mon-Wed due to preemptions for NCAA basketball later in the week. On NBC, Ann Curry was in for Brian Williams on Thursday and Friday.
