Last week’s evening news numbers are complicated. The Stanley Cup finals and the U.S. Open caused below normal coverage and abnormal start times for the NBC Nightly News. The NBA finals caused World News Tonight to experience low coverage. CBS had full coverage. So with those caveats:
NBC was #1 among total viewers and homes. ABC was #1 in the 25-54 demo. (ABC outperformed NBC among demo viewers 4 out of 5 nights.)
“Despite having full coverage last week, CBS’ ‘Evening News’ posted its lowest delivery among Total Viewers in over 9 months (week of September 5, 2005) and its smallest Adult 25-54 delivery in over 8 months (week of October 3, 2005),” ABC noted.
For the week of June 12:
Total viewers: NBC: 7,580,000 / ABC: 7,180,000 / CBS: 6,490,000
25-54 rating: NBC: 2.0/9 / ABC: 2.1/9 / CBS: 1.7/7
Homes: NBC: 5.3/12 / ABC: 5.2/11 / CBS: 4.6/10
