For the second week in a row, “ABC World News with Diane Sawyer” takes the A25-54 demo with an +85,000 viewer lead on “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams.” Williams held a more than half a million lead on Sawyer’s broadcast among total viewers, extending its No. 1 streak to 252 weeks.
Compared to the same week last year “World News” is the only broadcast to grow in the younger demo, up a slight +1%. “Nightly” was down -8% while “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley” was down -6%. “Nightly News” came in third on Friday in the A25-54 demo. The last time the broadcast came in third in that demo, on any day during the week, was nearly seven years ago.
All three broadcasts were up slightly among total viewers year-over-year: ABC was up +3%, NBC and CBS were both up +1%.
