With two international crises happening in Gaza and Ukraine, ABC “World News with Diane Sawyer” widened its A25-54 demo lead with a +123,000-viewer victory over “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” (David Muir was in for Sawyer all week).
The demo win marks three weeks in a row for ABC, its longest winning streak since March, 2008. Williams led Sawyer’s broadcast by 327,000 among total viewers extending its No. 1 streak to 253 weeks.
Compared to the same week last year “World News” is the only broadcast to grow in the younger demo, up +5%. “Nightly” was down -6% while “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley” was down -5%. For total viewers year-over-year, ABC was up +6%, CBS was up +2%, and NBC was flat.
