NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt won the week of Dec. 19 and the month of December, in both total viewers and the A25-54 demo. December also marked the NBC broadcast’s 18th month at No. 1 in the A25-54 demo. ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir continues to lead in total viewers for the season. And for Q4, 2016, ABC beat NBC in Total Viewers for its first Q4 win in 20 years.
Compared to the same week last year all three newscasts were down slightly in both viewers and the demo.
Nightly News is based on a 3-day average (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday). CBS and ABC are based on 5-day averages.
