Following huge ratings during the weeks of the Olympics, NBC was again on top last week in evening news ratings in both Total Viewers and the A25-54 demo. But the gap was closed significantly by 2nd place ABC.
ABC was the only network to show gains in both categories week-to-week (CBS was flat in the demo). It was the second week in a row ABC cut the gap in both categories.
Still, NBC’s ratings were its best in Total Viewers since the week of June 16, not counting the two Olympic weeks prior.
Note: Because of an NFL exhibition game, Thursday’s Nightly News was not counted in the average due to reduced coverage.
