Evening News Ratings: Week of April 11

NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt ranked #1 across-the-board for the week of April 11. The program averaged almost 8.3 million total viewers, about a +1 percent improvement from the week of April 4 and a +7 percent improvement from the comparable week in 2015. Nightly News also averaged 1.9 million viewers in the 25-54 demographic, down less than -1 percent from the week of April 4, but an +8 percent improvement from the comparable week in 2015.

The program has now been No. 1 in total viewers for 10 straight weeks and No. 1 in the news demo for 38 straight weeks.

ABC World News Tonight with David Muir held the No. 2 spot in both key categories this past week, delivering a 7.99 million total viewer average and 1.7 million adults 25-54. World News had a positive week from a total viewer perspective. The program was up about +1 percent week-to-week, and up +1.2 percent from the comparable week in 2015. Unfortunately, the program fell in adults 25-54, down -1.5 percent week-to-week and down -4 percent from the comparable week in 2015.

CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley delivered a 6.8 million total viewer average this past week to go along with over 1.5 million adults 25-54. Evening News’ performance in the news demo is notable. The program was up over +3 percent week-to-week and up over +1 percent year-over-year.
