Evening News Ratings: Nightly News Wins Week; Grows Year-Over-Year

NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt climbed back to No. 1 in total viewers after four consecutive weeks in second place. The program also won the week in A25-54, which has now been the case for 46 out of the past 47 weeks. Nightly was also the only evening news program to improve year-over-year, +5 percent in total viewers and + 5 percent in the demo.

World News Tonight with David Muir finished the week No. 2 in total viewers and No. 2 in the demo. The program was down 1 percent in total viewers and down 12 percent in the news demo versus the comparable week in 2015. It’s important to note that World News Tonight averages for the week of June 13 are based on a three day week due to NBA Finals pre-emptions on Monday and Thursday. The program aired on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and was No. 1 in total viewers on each of those days.

CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley was down 5 percent in total viewers and down 1 percent in the news demo year-over-year.
