ESPN Going All Out For UConn’s Record Run to 89

By Marcus Vanderberg

Get ready for a lot of University of Connecticut women’s basketball coverage on the ESPN Networks.

With the Huskies one victory shy of surpassing UCLA’s 88-game win streak, ESPN2 will televise UConn’s next game on Tuesday (7 p.m. ET) against No. 14 Florida State from the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. The game was originally scheduled to air on ESPNU.

Dave O’Brien and Doris Burke will call the game and former Huskies star Rebecca Lobo will serve as the sideline reporter. The Final Four studio team of Trey Wingo, Kara Lawson and Carolyn Peck will host an hour-long pregame show on Tuesday beginning at 6 p.m.

Leading up to the game, ESPNU will air five consecutive hours of UConn programming.

But wait, there’s more!

ESPN.com and espnW.com will have extensive coverage of the Huskies from the likes of Mechelle Voepel, Amanda Rykoff, and Ramona Shelburne.

And if that’s not enough UConn coverage for you, ESPN Classic will air the Huskies national championship wins over Stanford (2010) and Louisville (2009) along with three games from the 2010 season (Baylor, Ohio State, Florida State).
