Eliot Spitzer’s Not-So-Friendly Return To CNN

By Alex Weprin

It was just three short years ago that CNN hired former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer to serve as the co-host (alongside Kathleen Parker) on a primetime debate program, “Parker/Spitzer.” The show would be quickly rebranded as “In The Arena” a few months later (minus Parker), and Spitzer would sign off from the program a year or so after it launched.

Fast forward two years, and Spitzer is interested in getting back into New York politics with a run for New York City Comptroller. As part of his campaign, Spitzer has been appearing on a slew of national TV shows, and today he returned to his old stomping grounds at CNN, appearing on “The Lead with Jake Tapper.”

Suffice it to say, it was not a friendly chat.
