As TVSpy reported last month, there is a new face joining the weekend edition of “Today.” Dylan Dreyer begins Saturday as the program’s weather anchor.
Dreyer comes from WHDH, the NBC affiliate in Boston, where she has been the morning meteorologist since 2007. Her new role will also include providing weekend weather reports on MSNBC.
“Today” has been without a weekend weather anchor since Janice Huff signed off in April.

| NEW YORK – September 13, 2012 – Meteorologist Dylan Dreyer is joining NBC News as “Weekend Today” weather anchor. Her first day on the broadcast is September 15, 2012. In her new role, Dreyer will also provide weekend weather reports on MSNBC.
Dreyer joins “Weekend Today” from WHDH, the NBC affiliate in Boston, Massachusetts, where she served as weekday morning meteorologist since 2007. Prior to that, she served as weekend meteorologist at WJAR, the NBC affiliate in Providence, Rhode Island. Before joining WJAR, Dreyer spent two years as the weekend meteorologist at WICU in Erie, Pennsylvania. Dreyer graduated cum laude from Rutgers University in 2003, where she received her bachelor’s degree in meteorology. During her time at Rutgers, she served as weather anchor for the Rutgers TV network and was one of two meteorologists for the Rutgers radio station. In 2008, Dreyer was voted Boston’s Best Meteorologist. She is a proud holder of the American Meteorological Society’s Seal of Approval. Dreyer is a native of Manalapan, New Jersey and recently relocated to the New York area. She and her fiancé are set to be married in October 2012. ### |
