Dueling Proposals on ‘GMA’ and ‘Today’

It’s the season for love on the morning shows: both “Good Morning America” and “Today” featured live proposals this morning.

On “GMA,” George Stephanopoulos spotted a man holding a “Will You Marry Me?” sign outside the show’s Times Square studios. Later in the show, the man told Sam Champion that his girlfriend of five years had also seen the sign — and called and said yes. “George making matches across America, ladies and gentlemen,” Champion said. “Love on ‘GMA.'”

On “Today,” Simone Jhingoor thought she was appearing on the show to talk about her nonprofit organization when her boyfriend grabbed Al Roker’s microphone and proposed. “I am standing right here at Rockefeller Plaza live on the ‘Today’ show with nothing on my mind other than to ask you one question: will you marry me?” he asked. Watch after the jump.
