A Mercedes convertible with Florida plates crashed into the lobby of CNN Center in Atlanta shortly after 4am this morning. WSB-TV, which had a reporter on the scene and a traffic helicopter overhead, reports the car drove down the sidewalk and right into the lobby of the building. A male driver was arrested while the female occupant was spotted pulling shoe boxes, a television, and other things out of the car. Guests of the Omni hotel heard a loud bang as the crashed into the north-side entrance of the complex. No one was hurt. The story got extensive coverage on local news this morning. “Good Morning America” also reported it. CNN Newsource reported the news on Twitter, but the cable channel has not. Carol Costello, who anchors from CNN Center (for now) reported the news at 9:55am.
