“20/20,” co-anchored by Diane Sawyer, which explored the issue of kids and guns, won its 10pm timeslot Friday night in the A18-49 demo. Coming off last week’s season high, the ABC Newsmagazine tied its 2nd-highest rating this season in the A18-49 demo. “Blue Bloods” on CBS more than doubled “20/20” among total viewers: 12.79 million watching CBS vs. 5.5 million watching ABC. A 2-hour “Dateline” on NBC averaged 6 million viewers from 9-11pm.
Another win for Sawyer and company came last night when a “World News” special edition “Tragedy at Newtown” won a Writer’s Guild award for ABC News writers Lisa Ferri and Matt Negrin.
