Pres. Donald Trump Will Have Lunch with Network Anchors

By Chris Ariens

President Trump will break bread with network news anchors tomorrow. The lunch is off the record, but, in the past with these kinds of lunches, attendees have been able to provide “color” of their experience. That’s not to say any of them will.

CBS’s Scott Pelley is anchoring Evening News from Washington tonight and tomorrow night, and will attend the lunch. Fox News Channel’s chief political anchor Bret Baier and Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace will be attending on behalf of Fox. From CNN, Jake Tapper, Wolf Blitzer and Fareed Zakaria will attend. Greta Van Susteren will be there for MSNBC.

We’ve reached out to NBC News and ABC News to determine who from their networks will attend.

The lunch comes ahead of Trump’s first foreign trip, and in the midst of one of his worst weeks in office, with back-to-back reports from The Washington Post on Monday involving Trump’s release of classified information to Russian diplomats, and the The New York Times Tuesday about Trump’s February meeting with now-former FBI Director James Comey in which Trump may have obstructed justice.
