Don Imus Signs Off Fox Business Network

The Don Imus era ended on Friday morning when he signed off from Fox Business Network for the final time. The Imus in the Morning host joined FBN in 2009 and his nationally syndicated program has been a mainstay from 6-9amET on the network ever since.

Imus announced his departure last month, saying “We go off television May 29. Why? I do not know.” As for his replacement, FBN announced that Maria Bartiromo‘s show will take over the 6-9amET time slot as part of various changes to the network’s schedule.

This morning Imus had a special final guest, Neil Cavuto, join him for a proper sendoff, saying, “you’ve gotten this far being a complete and total callous schmuck. And I admire that.”

Imus’s radio show will continue, but “unabashed Imus groupie” Cavuto is among the many fans who will miss seeing him on TV. Check out a tribute Cavuto paid to his now-former colleague last night:
