Do the Media ‘Fan the Fire’ Of Washington Chaos?

So, the U.S. government will probably shut down tonight. Who’s to blame? Congress? Yes. The White House? Yes. The media? Probably.

Countdown clocks crowd TV screens as cable news channels talk their way to Midnight, when the shutdown would begin. CNN is reminding viewers, via an on screen banner, about a poll they have taken. Those questioned think “shutdown a bad idea.” Ya think?

In an interview with FNC’s Bill O’Reilly this morning, Matt Lauer got introspective wondering if the media “fan the fire” and play up these seemingly never-ending political crises.
