DNC Night One: Cable Nets Up Big From 2004

By Chris Ariens

All three cable networks saw aggressive, nearly triple digit growth last night when compared to the first night of the 2004 Democratic National Convention. In the ad-friendly A25-54 demo, MSNBC was up the most in prime time (8-11pm Live +SD) at 88%; CNN was next, up 85% and FNC was up 84% from 2004.

CNN drew the most demo viewers with 1.36M to MSNBC’s 847K to FNC’s 776K. The Scoreboard has more details.

So, I guess that Pew Study was pretty much right on. We’ll see if the study holds true (and a hurricane doesn’t get in the way) next week.
