Did Rick Santelli Just Compare What Happened in Cuba to What’s Happening Now in the U.S.?

By Chris Ariens

Drudge is running an alert that includes a clip of CNBC’s Rick Santelli, who covers the Chicago Merc, going off on how the stimulus bill and mortgage bailout is going over in the pits (not well) and he’s getting the traders behind him fired up.

“The government is promoting bad behavior,” he said adding, “You know Cuba used to have mansions and a relatively decent economy. They moved from the individual to the collective. Now they’re driving ’54 Chevys.”

“This is like mob rule here, I’m getting scared,” said Joe Kernen back at CNBC HQ.
