Diane Sawyer’s ‘Hidden America’ Heads to South Dakota

By Chris Ariens

Tonight Diane Sawyer presents another of her “Hidden America” specials. For more than a year, as she has done with the poverty reports from Appalachia and Camden, New Jersey, Sawyer and her team followed young people from the Lakota Indian Tribe in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. In the shadow of Mount Rushmore, Sawyer met a young girl with “American Idol” dreams and a high school quarterback whose strength knows no bounds. Diane Sawyer Investigates – “A Hidden America: Children of the Plains” airs tonight on “20/20” at 10pmET.
