Diane Sawyer to Anchor ‘World News’ From China

By Alex Weprin

ABC’s “World News with Diane Sawyer” will originate live from China November 15-17, the network says. Sawyer will anchor, while correspondents David Muir and Clarissa Ward examine what makes China the second largest economy in the world.

Sawyer has taken “World News” to a number of places across the globe since being joining as anchor last year. In December, 2009 the program originated from Copenhagen, Denmark, where she interviewed Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The program has also originated in Haiti, the Gulf Coast and Afghanistan.
