Diane Sawyer: ‘This is Going to be my Last Week, after 10 Years, Here at Good Morning America’

“I’ve calculated 2,881 shows,” said Diane Sawyer at the start of “Good Morning America” this morning. Sawyer announced to her audience what had been speculated for several weeks — that this week would be her last as anchor of the program after 10 years.

Sawyer’s expected to begin the next phase of her ABC career, as anchor and managing editor of “World News” on Dec. 21.

“I hope you celebrate with us this week, laugh with us this week,” Sawyer said.

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, on the show to grade Pres. Obama’s job performance said of Sawyer’s departure, “just for getting up, you guys get a B+.”
