Deadspin's Daulerio to Drop Acid and Play Videogame to Attempt Recreation of Ellis No-Hitter

By Cam Martin

FoxSports Jason Whitlock said he’s never heard the tale about former Pittsburgh Pirates Dock Ellis allegedly pitching a no-hitter on LSD. Whitlock, who’s admittedly an NFL obsessive who doesn’t follow baseball, learned of the story when Deadspin editor AJ Daulerio appeared on Whitlock’s podcast today and announced that he’s going to try to recreate Ellis’ feat in a video game setting. That’s right, Daulerio, who unabashedly cops to being a recreational drug user, says he’s going to drop acid and play MLB 11: The Show, using Ellis (who’s available as a player option) to hopefully pitch a no-hitter while riding the snake. The attempt will be videotaped. It will not take place at Caesar’s Palace or Snake River Canyon.

Fast forward to the 20:30 mark if you want to hear this specific announcement. We tried embedding the audio, but the technology at FoxSports scares us.
