CNN recently shot a pilot for a new show featuring MSNBC’s David Shuster and NPR’s Michel Martin, reports Felix Gillette of the NY Observer today:
The pilot, we’re told, also featured medical and opinion segments, and included appearances by several current CNN contributors, including Chrystia Freeland, the U.S. managing editor for the Financial Times and Jeffrey Toobin of The New Yorker.
Though many pilots are shot and never seen again, the news is sure to get a fair amount of attention in light of recent speculation surrounding ratings news and because of Shuster’s prominence at a competing network. Shuster had no comment for TVNewser.

Update: Though MSNBC originally had no comment this morning about the report, a network spokesperson tells NYTimes’ Brian Stelter this afternoon, “If true, this is unacceptable and David will be punished appropriately.”
