David Price Inks Jeter Deal to Hawk 'I Gave Up DJ’s 3K'

By Cam Martin

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price has inked a deal with Steiner Sports, exclusive seller of New York Yankees memorabilia, to market items touting Price’s role in surrendering Derek Jeter’s 3000th career hit. Price and Jeter will sign some items that read “I Gave Up DJ’s 3K.”

“I’m over it,” Price said of the hit. “It’s done.”

Why would anyone lose sleep over surrendering the 3000th hit, anyway? It’s not like he surrendered The Shot Heard Round the World.

Price said he didn’t know how many items he would sign. Asked if “lucrative” was a fair description for the deal, he said, “That’s good.”

Good for him, a Rays player making money off the cravings of Yankee fans.
