Cruise Ship’s Horn Steps All Over Kerry Sanders’ Liveshot

By Mark Joyella

Describing himself as “giddy” as he sailed into the Port of Havana live on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, NBC News correspondent Kerry Sanders talked about being a part of history as the first U.S. cruise ship docked in Havana in more than 50 years.

Sanders’ package aired, and in his live tag, the ship stepped all over him, blowing its horn. “That was well timed,” joked Sanders, as the ship lit up the horn for a second time. Going back to the studio, Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough laughed at the largely helpless Sanders.

It’s only been a matter of weeks since Sanders was drowned out by NAT sound. In February, a live hit at a Nevada gun range left MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell wondering what Sanders had said. “Well, Kerry, I’m afraid we could not hear most of that because the fire power was a little too great,” she said at the time.
