“In a move that will reshape the evening and morning network news landscape, Katie Couric is expected to announce Wednesday morning that she is leaving NBC’s The Today Show after 15 years as its co-host. Couric will then join CBS, becoming the first woman to be solo anchor of an evening newscast, sources at CBS and NBC said today.
Sources said that while Couric will not say Wednesday that she is taking the CBS anchor job — she is still under contract to NBC through the end of May — a three-year, nearly $40 million deal has been finalized.”
