Couric Apologizes to St. Paul, Minn. for Geography Mixup

By Guest

At the close of the CBS Evening News last night, Katie Couric apologized for getting her geography wrong.

Paul Walsh of the twin cities’ Star Tribune reports that late last week Couric said Sen. John McCain will accept the G.O.P. nomination next month in Minneapolis.

The Republican National Convention is actually in neighboring St. Paul, the capital of the state.

Couric extended her “apologies to the people of St. Paul” and even mentioned what St. Paul (the saint) stood for: forgiveness.
