Confetti & Balloons For ‘Mad’ Anniversary

By Brian

Mad Money host Jim Cramer celebrated his one-year anniversary on CNBC Tuesday night with “an hour-long celebration that made Mr. Cramer seem even more of a caricature of himself (if that was possible),” the NYT’s Dealbook says.

“With confetti and balloons falling from the ceiling, Mr. Cramer declared, ‘Happy anniversary to me! Tonight’s show is all about me!’ That theme continued throughout the entire show as he mentioned ‘it’s obvious that I’m loved’ and ‘I got a lot more famous.’ He told viewers, ‘Really this show is about you, except actually it is about me.'”

The blog admits that “much of Mr. Cramer’s show was clearly meant as a joke, but it rang all a bit too true.” It concludes: “We liked you better when you were — or at least acted — slightly insecure about it.”
