On CBS’ “60 Minutes,” former NBC “Tonight” show host Conan O’Brien sat down with Steve Kroft for his first full interview to since leaving the network and being replaced by his predecessor, Jay Leno.

When Kroft asked if he thought Leno had “acted honorably,” O’Brien said he didn’t think he could answer, but felt he would have handled everything differently:

If I had surrendered The Tonight Show and handed it over to somebody publicly and wished them well– and then– I don’t– would not have come back six months later. But that’s me, you know. Everyone’s got their own, you know, way of doing things.

O’Brien also said that he had not heard from Leno or NBCU CEO Jeff Zucker since he parted ways with the network. He denied claims that he was “voted out” by the viewers and that the show was losing money.

More: Early numbers have “60 Minutes” drawing 13.4 million viewers last night.
