CBS’ Late Show host Stephen Colbert mocked CNN’s plans to offer the upcoming Democratic presidential debate in virtual reality, saying “we’ve all dreamt of a fully immersive environment where we could watch Lincoln Chafee take notes while someone else talks.”

CNN has touted the Oct. 13th virtual reality coverage as a moment in cable news “history” as a network offers “the first-ever live stream of a news event in virtual reality, giving viewers a front-row seat to CNN’s 2016 election debates.”

Wearing his own VR headset, Colbert described the experience. “It really feels like I’m sitting and watching something I can watch on TV.”
