CNN’s Ted Rowlands Heads to Chicago

By Chris Ariens

Veteran CNN correspondent Ted Rowlands is on the move. Rowlands, who got his start with CNN in the San Francisco bureau in 2004, before moving to Los Angeles, has been named Chicago correspondent for the network.

For CNN, Rowlands has covered the high profile criminal cases against Scott Peterson, Michael Jackson, O.J. Simpson and Phil Spector. Rowlands was also CNN’s lead reporter in the death of Jackson.

Rowlands had also filled in occasionally on “Larry King Live.”

The Chicago bureau has been without a fulltime correspondent since Susan Roesgen, was let go nearly two years ago. Roesgen was criticized for her coverage at a Chicago tax day tea party in April, 2009.
