Before he was a judge on “America’s Got Talent” or an interviewer for CNN or ITV, Piers Morgan was an editor for the British tabloid The Daily Mirror. In 2004, Morgan was fired from the paper after printing photos allegedly showing British soldiers engaging in actions similar to those done by American soldiers at Abu Ghraib. The photos turned out to be a hoax.
Morgan addressed the scandal in the latest edition of his upcoming program’s web series, “Question Time.”
“My family are all in the army, my brother is a British army colonel, he was in Basra the day we ran the pictures. When I read people say ‘he just did it to get British soldiers killed,’ well that is just ridiculous.”
