CNN’s Alina Cho Returns to Her Roots

By Chris Ariens

CNN’s Alina Cho will be among a group of reporters traveling to North Korea to report on the New York Philharmonic concert in Pyongyang next week. Cho will add a distinctive note to CNN’s coverage: her mother and father were born in Seoul and lived through the Korean War. Two of her father’s uncles disappeared during the conflict, and now Cho is hoping to find evidence of their existence in North Korea.

Cho’s reports will begin Monday on American Morning.

CNN’s Christiane Amanpour is also on the trip, reporting for CNN and CNN International. She’s putting together reports for a documentary on the current state of affairs between North and South Korea. That documentary will air in late March.
