First on TVNewser: CNN’s Jake Tapper will make his hosting debut for the network Thursday night, when the cable channel presents a “Jake Tapper Reports” documentary on a soldier that served at Combat Outpost Keating in Afghanistan.

“An American Hero: The Uncommon Valor of Clint Romesha,” will air Thursday night at 10 PM, taking the place of what would have been the 10 PM repeat of “AC360.” CNN says that the “Jake Tapper Reports” name will be used for future special hosted by the anchor. “AC360” will replay at 11 PM that evening.

The special, which ties into Tapper’s recent book The Outpost, is based on the actions of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Clinton Romesha, whose heroics are credited with saving lives when the outpost was attacked by insurgents in 2009. Tapper speaks to Romesha, as well as some of his fellow soldiers, for the special.
