CNN To Air Second “Black in America” Series

With nearly 13 million viewers of the original “Black in America” series in 2008, CNN will be back with three new specials this summer.

“Black in America: Today’s Pioneers” and “Black in America: Tomorrow’s Leaders” will debut in July, while a special co-production with Essence magazine filmed in New Orleans will air in August. CNN special correspondent Soledad O’Brien will again host the series.

Last week, CNN replayed the 2008 series, as well as took a look at how the new administration is addressing the issues raised in the original specials.
