CNN Retraction

CNN has retracted a story concerning the treatment of Pfc. Bradley Manning — the man charged with leaking classified information to Wikileaks — at the Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia.

Pentagon spokesperson David Lapan said Tuesday:

“There is no investigation into the decision last week to put Manning, who has been charged with leaking classified government documents to Wikileaks, on suicide watch.”

This isn’t CNN’s first retraction related to a U.S. military story. In 1998, CNN submitted the 54-page Operation Tailwind retraction.
