CNN Adding ‘(Get To) The Point’ Panel Show at 10 PM

By Alex Weprin

CNN is finally getting around to taking advantage of the 10 PM slot, currently occupied by a replay of “AC360.” Starting this week the channel will be airing “(Get To) The Point,” a panel show featuring a rotating list of hosts (sound familiar?). With the move the replay of “AC360” will shift to 11 PM, and the replay of “Erin Burnett Outfront” will be off the air until the normal schedule resumes.

“The Point” is being described as “a week of special programming,” and not as a permanent 10 PM program, but let us not forget that another cable news panel show, “The Five,” began life as a replacement program as well, and is now one of Fox News Channel’s highest-rated shows.

Among the hosts are ad-man and NBC regular Donny Deutsch, CNN contributor Margaret Hoover, ESPN’s Rick Reilly and ESPN’s Jason Taylor. Given the presence of Reilly and Taylor, look for plenty of sports talk, including promotion of the NCAA March Madness tourney, which has been boosting CNN sister networks TruTV and TBS.
