CNN Partnering with Florida GOP to host Debate Days before Primary

By Chris Ariens

Less than 24 hours after announcing a debate in partnership with the Arizona GOP, TVNewser has learned CNN is set to announce it is teaming up with the Republican party of Florida for a debate in January.

The debate, to be held in Jacksonville, will take place sometime between Jan. 26 and Jan 29, days ahead of the Florida primary, which, announced earlier today, will take place on Jan. 31. With 29 electoral votes, Florida follows only California (55) and Texas (38), tied with New York, for the most electoral votes. Tampa is also the site of the Republican National Convention in August where the GOP will choose its nominee.

CNN has three other GOP debates forthcoming: Tuesday, Oct. 18 in Las Vegas, the Arizona debate on Dec. 1, and one in Charleston, SC on January 19, 2012.
