Subject: Weekend New Day EP Announcement

Please join me in welcoming Adam Charlton as the new Executive Producer of Weekend New Day. He joins us from CNN International where he has spent the past three years as supervising producer of a number of shows including World Business Today, News Stream, iDesk, The World Right Now and CNN Newsroom LA. Adam was born in Britain, the son of a news anchor. He knew early on that journalism was his calling. From his first newspaper byline as a teenager to a decade with CNN International in Europe, Hong Kong and now the U.S., he is on a mission to inform and engage. Adam has helped steer CNN through some of the key events shaping our world – the implosion of the global economy, the devastating earthquake in Japan, live coverage of Syrian refugees making their perilous journey to Europe, the first coalition bombs to drop on ISIS targets, the aftermath of the Paris terror attacks and most recently, the 2016 Presidential Election. Adam is an English and history graduate. He lives in Decatur with his wife Sarah, along with a rambunctious toddler named Olivia and their newborn son Toby.

Adam will join the team in mid-April.
