Add CNN en Español to the substantial list of Nielsen-measured cable television networks.

Nielsen and CNN Worldwide jointly announced that CNN en Español will start receiving Nielsen national TV ratings. The multi-year agreement provides CNN’s Spanish language news network with Nielsen C3 and C7 ratings data, audience trends, Hispanic demographic data breakdowns, as well as minute-level viewership metrics and daily measurement performance for all content that airs on the network.

In addition, CNN en Español will have the flexibility to conduct in-depth analysis of its audience for both live and time-shifted viewing and ratings data.

“As a leader in Spanish-language news content we need to have a broad understanding of the U.S. Hispanic populations viewing habits and media consumption trends,” svp and gm of Senior Vice President CNN en Español and Hispanic Strategy for CNN/U.S. Cynthia Hudson said in a statement. “We are excited about our expanded relationship with Nielsen and look forward to unlocking the full potential of our content.”

CNN en Español is now getting a far more comprehensive view of its linear audience that it has had in the past, and the network will be able to leverage Nielsen products during the 2018 upfront season.

“Hispanic consumption is a driving force of our domestic economy. It’s critically important that networks have a clear understanding of how this important constituency satisfies their need for relevant news,” said Peter Brabury, managing director, Nielsen national client solutions. “We are proud to count CNN en Español as a client and we look forward to our newly expanded relationship.”

CNN en Español is in 7.4 million households in the U.S., and 42 million households in Latin America.
