CNN Adds Two New Correspondents

By A.J. Katz

CNN is adding two correspondents to its robust roster: Kara Scannell and Dianne Gallagher.

Scannell will join CNN as a reporter, based in the D.C. bureau, effective October 9.   Scannell comes from the Financial Times where she was U.S. senior finance correspondent and before that, their U.S. investigations correspondent. She has covered tax evasion schemes, cyber security breaches and white-collar crime. Previously, she reported on financial regulation at the Wall Street Journal.

Gallagher has been promoted to CNN correspondent and will be based in Atlanta.  Gallagher was most recently a correspondent for Newsource, joining the affiliate news service in 2015. During that time, she covered the Pulse NightClub massacre, police shootings in Dallas, the deaths of Fidel Castro and Muhammad Ali, and most recently Hurricanes Irma from Florida.
