Chuck Todd and Nicole Wallace Argue Over Christie Coverage: ‘Not on My Show’

By Jordan Chariton

Todd WallaceOn a segment this morning on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Chuck Todd and former White House Communications Director Nicole Wallace got into it over Todd’s coverage of the ongoing New Jersey bridge scandal.

After Todd played down Joe Scarborough‘s thought that Governor Chris Christie had “a good day” yesterday, Wallace lost it.

“C’mon, oh my god!” Wallace said. “Stop stop, Rachel’s (Maddow) not on till nine.”

After Todd said he thought people praising Christie’s speech in Chicago yesterday were “overdoing it,” Wallace criticized the fact that there’s been so much time spent covering every “non-news event” surrounding Christie. “Not on my show,” Todd shot back.

“Well on the network on which you appear, and I appear,” Wallace responded. Todd concluded he is simply not treating Christie as presidential candidate right now. “Who cares what he is in your mind…as a journalist you should cover a day like yesterday,” Wallace countered.

As Mediaite’s Tommy Christopher noted, former White House senior adviser David Axelrod also highlighted some of MSNBC’s shows that have “pummeled” Christie.
