Chris Wallace has re-signed with Fox News Channel keeping him at the network “well past the 2020 election,” he says, and continuing as host of Fox News Sunday.

“After almost 14 years as the anchor of Fox News Sunday, I think I am starting to get the hang of it,” Wallace said in a statement. “I am honored by [Fox News executive chairman Rupert Murdoch‘s] confidence, and excited to keep reporting as part of the Fox News team.”

Wallace as a part of Fox News Channel’s most-watched program ever, the first GOP primary debate back in August, 2015. And he got rave reviews for moderating the final presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in Oct. 2016.

Wallace remains the only TV host to have hosted two of the Sunday public affairs shows. He was moderator of NBC’s Meet the Press in 1987-88. At NBC he was also anchor of Sunday Nightly News. After joining ABC News in 1989, Wallace often filled in on Nightline and reported for Primetime Thursday.

Wallace, the son of legendary CBS Newsman Mike Wallace, often found himself fighting for stories with his father.

As he recalled at his father’s memorial service in 2012, young Wallace had set up an interview with comedian Chris Rock. Rock canceled not long before the shoot. Wallace later found out why.

“My old man had stolen the interview! And he knew he’d stolen it from me!”

Chris Wallace began his career at WNBC-TV in New York in 1975. Since then, he’s won every major broadcast news award for his reporting, including three Emmy Awards, the Dupont-Columbia Silver Baton, a Peabody Award, the Radio Television Digital News Association’s Paul White Award and the Sol Taishoff Award for Broadcast Journalism. He’ll receive the 2017 International Center for Journalists Founders Award for Excellence in Journalism in November.
