Chris Jansing reports from Vietnam as Medal of Honor recipient Col. Jack Jacobs returns

By Chris Ariens

MSNBC’s Chris Jansing has been away from the anchor desk for a few days. Turns out she’s been in Vietnam reporting on NBC News military analyst Col. Jack Jacobs (Ret.) who returned to the nation where his bravery during the Vietnam war earned him the Congressional Medal of Honor.

InsideCableNews spotted some Tweets from @jansingco, an account created just before Jansing left for Hanoi.

I might be the most technophobic anchor but I’m excited to join Twitter. Looking forward to your tweets. http://bit.ly/g6BuUw

Jansing Twitpic’d the image above this morning of her and Jacobs in the Mekong Delta — his first trip back to that battlefield where his bravery in 1968 led to the Medal of Honor award. Jansing’s reports from Vietnam will air on NBC Nightly News as well as on her MSNBC show, “Jansing & Co.” from 10-NoonET, in the coming weeks.
