NBC “Dateline” anchor Chris Hansen is leaving NBC News, a source close to the anchor confirms to TVNewser. Hansen, a 20-year veteran of NBC, is best known for his hidden camera reports such as “To Catch a Predator” and “The Hansen Files.” More recently, his personal life became tabloid fodder.
Hansen’s departure was first reported by TV Guide‘s Stephen Battaglio, who received a comment from NBC.
“Chris has been a valued member of the team and we thank him for his many contributions to Dateline and NBC News over the last 20 years,” the network tells TV Guide Magazine in a statement. “We wish him the very best.”
