Chris Brown Backs Out of ‘Today’ Interview

By Chris Ariens

Singer Chris Brown performed on the “Today” show this morning as part of the Summer Concert Series. But there was one glaring omission: the interview.

More than 18,000 people — the largest of the summer — crowded the plazas and streets around Rockefeller Center for the concert. Typically, after the first song, the performer will do an interview with the anchors. It’s standard at the “Good Morning America” concerts too.

And while the “Today” anchors were prepped to chat with Brown, insiders tell us Brown’s camp backed out at the last minute.

Brown, you’ll recall, flipped out after an interview with Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America” in March. Brown later apologized for the outburst.

Today’s concert led the NYPD to shut down 48th and 49th Streets around Rockefeller Center with crowds stretching to 51st Street. Fans had been lining up since Wednesday.
